St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles

We walked about 17 miles today crossing from France over the Pyrenees and into Spain today. It was a beautiful morning for the steep climb up the French side. The sun was out, but it wasn't overly warm at 7:30. As we climbed higher clouds rolled in around us making the pass feel even more mountainous. As we decended into Spain we were watching the clouds form around us.

Leaving St. Jean

Early morning sun.

Hiking up.

Sheep.

More sheep.

Corrie holding up the local cheese we bought to supplement our lunch.

It's hard to capture the clouds forming with a photo. Corrie took a time lapse but it won't post with the blogger app.

  1. Wish I'd known you were heading that way. I have wonderful friends in St Michel DE Castelnau. They would have been happy to have you visit their farm. Are you following the pilgrimage trail?
