Happy Solstice!

1:30 am (solar midnight) looking due north across the Arctic Ocean from Barter Island.

We also spent a few hours watching actual polar bears today. It's been a great solstice! I'll post more when I have a better internet connection in a couple of days.

    I'm only discovering your blog now and it's already amazing even though you haven't left the US yet (apart for a fast crossing of Canada)...well, now I'm going to have regrets about not quitting my job and following you. At least I'm prioritizing AK as a place I must go someday.
