Happy Solstice!

1:30 am (solar midnight) looking due north across the Arctic Ocean from Barter Island.
Corrie and Melinda out on the ice.
We also spent a few hours watching actual polar bears today. It's been a great solstice! I'll post more when I have a better internet connection in a couple of days.

  1. Wow, that's gorgeous. I have got to see the solstice from that far north some day.

  2. I'm only discovering your blog now and it's already amazing even though you haven't left the US yet (apart for a fast crossing of Canada)...well, now I'm going to have regrets about not quitting my job and following you. At least I'm prioritizing AK as a place I must go someday.
Enjoy, you are a very lucky guy to me

  3. I'm always be happy to give tours of Alaska.
